Techstream is dedicated to delivering world-class technical training and consulting in a few, specific niche areas.

The company is deliberately kept small to keep costs and overhead down, allowing us to fulfill our goal: To provide world-class technical training in our areas of expertise  at the lowest possible price. We spend our resources on developing, updating, and maintaining our courses and on instructor development, not on marketing.

The Instructors
Techstream's instructors are all highly skilled and experienced engineers who spend over 75% of their time working on real world projects. The information they bring to the classroom is down-to-earth and practical.

To become a Techstream instructor it is not enough to be technically proficient. Our instructors have the ability to communicate in English, not "technobabble." They have learned to understand why a question is asked so they can answer it from the appropriate angle and level.

When it comes to technical and communication skill and ability our instructors are the best there are. Over 100 years of combined experience tells us so.

The Purpose
Being technical professionals ourselves we know how important it is to keep up-to-date in our disciplines. We also know how difficult it is to find good, understandable, up-to-date information and training at a reasonable price — or at any price. We are in the technical training field to address this situation.

The Approach
When we develop a new course we start by asking ourselves what we would want to know if we were part of the target audience. Then we ask ourselves what we, as practicing professionals, know the audience needs but doesn't know to ask for. To create the outline for the course/workshop we then merge these two lists and organize the topics so that they flow logically from one concept to the next, each subject building on the previous.

The next step is to develop labs, exercises, and demos that help students understand and practice key concepts and skills, the how part of learning. After that we develop the lecture material that ties the practical components together, the why part of the course.

Then we test everything on ourselves. And revise. And test again. And revise again. Not until all potential instructors are happy with the material do we feel ready to present it to our customers.
